The Challenge
The Udder Farm Shop, a family-run destination in the heart of Dorset, has long been known for its fresh local produce, butcher’s counter, and deli. But as the business expanded, so did its ambitions for coffee.
What began as a 65-seat café was growing into a much larger operation, with a new 120-cover restaurant and an additional 45 seats added to the existing coffee shop space. That meant a huge jump in covers—and a real need to upgrade the coffee offer to keep pace. They needed more than just new equipment; they needed a supplier that could offer end-to-end support and keep quality consistent under pressure.
As General Manager Nik Edwards put it, “We were going from a 65-seat coffee shop to over 200 covers—it was important that I had a company that could keep up with that kind of expansion.”
The Solution
Having already built a strong relationship with Bridge Coffee Roasters, Nik turned to us for guidance. The partnership began with a full coffee tasting and consultation session. Our team presented a curated selection of beans, and Nik and his team quickly identified a coffee that suited both their customer base and the character of the restaurant. The tasting experience made the process simple, giving them confidence in the flavour and sourcing behind their new coffee.
The Equipment
We supplied a setup built for high-volume service: Sanremo ZOE espresso machines, Mahlkönig E65 grinders, and PUQpress Q2s for fast, consistent tamping. But this was more than just a kit drop. Our engineers ensured everything was installed to spec, fully calibrated, and PSSR compliant from day one.
Bridge also helped bring the coffee story to life. We supported Udder with branded POS materials, including posters and menu designs to highlight the coffee’s origin and ethical sourcing, a natural fit for a business built on transparency and local values.

Here's What They Said
"We were going from a 65-seat coffee shop to an excess of 200 covers, so it was important that I had a company that would be able to keep up with that kind of expansion. The generosity that was given with the equipment, more than anything else—their willingness to provide everything we needed—really surprised me.
They came and gave us a whole range of tastings… we were able to identify the one specific type of coffee that we wanted to sell, and we've had a lot of really positive feedback about the flavour and quality compared to what we used to use.
Prior to opening, they came and spent a couple of days training our new staff—and that ongoing support was important to get the consistency. The time and effort they put into it was quite outstanding, really.” - Nik Edwards, General Manager, The Udder Farm Shop
From installation to branding, Bridge Coffee Roasters has helped Udder scale up their café offering without losing the personal touch that keeps customers coming back.
