Now available on the Mahlkönig E65S and E80S, this new technology connects the grinder directly to the espresso machine, allowing the two to communicate and automatically adjust grind size throughout the day.

What Is Grind by Sync?
Grind by Sync is the next evolution of Mahlkönig’s grinding technology. Many operators will already be familiar with Grind by Time, where the grinder doses based on seconds, or Grind by Weight, which uses an integrated scale to deliver highly accurate doses
Grind by Sync goes a step further.
Rather than operating in isolation, the grinder is now connected to the espresso machine. This allows it to respond dynamically to what’s actually happening during extraction, not just what was programmed at the start of the day.
In short, the grinder learns from the espresso machine and adjusts automatically.
How Grind by Sync Works in Practice
When paired with a compatible espresso machine, such as the Sanremo D8 Pro, the grinder continuously monitors real extraction data in real time. Synced up with one of your shot buttons, the grinder will constantly monitor the extraction time of your shots, and adjust it's grind size accordingly.
If an extraction begins to run too fast, the grinder automatically responds by adjusting the grind slightly finer to slow the flow down. If a shot runs too slowly, the grinder adjusts the grind coarser to speed the extraction up.
As a result, baristas no longer need to constantly monitor extraction times or manually tweak grind settings between drinks, allowing them to focus on service and consistency rather than constant adjustment.
