The PUQPress is one of our favourite accessories for improving the speed and efficiency of a barista’s workflow, totally eliminating any differences in tamping pressure and angle for improved consistency between shots, and taking some of the physicality away from the barista.
If you’re looking at buying a PUQPress for your business (or for home use, for that matter), it’s important to select the right model that fits your space, your capacity and usage requirements, and most importantly your grinder and espresso machine setup.
In this article we’re providing all of the specs and points of comparison you’ll need to know about each model of the PUQPress. In short, the Q series are the standalone PUQPress models whilst the M series are designed to fit underneath a wide range of grinders, saving space on the counter. The main points of differentiation in the Q series are price and workload capacity, whilst the M series mainly vary by the grinder models that they are designed to fit underneath.

So, Which PUQPress Should I Buy?
All models of the PUQPress come highly recommended by our team, you really just need to decide on which model to go for. Of course, if you have one of the grinders that specifically match one of the M series, it’ll be a great choice for you and your team saving space on the coffee bar. However, the M series come with an added cost and may make it difficult for shorter baristas to operate the grinder. The Q series are a fantastic choice for all grinders, and come with the added benefit of being completely moveable and slightly more affordable. Though they take up a little more space on the counter, the footprint is similar to that of a pint glass. At the end of the day, the choice is yours to make!
