The Best Coffee Machines for Co-Working Spaces
Jack Merriman

The right coffee machine for a co-working space depends on one question: will a barista make the drinks, or will members serve themselves? This guide covers what to prioritise, then recommends machines for each set-up.
What Should a Co-Working Space Look For in a Coffee Machine?
Coffee in a co-working space is a perk, not a profit centre, so the machine has to keep members happy without creating work for a lean site team.
Quality. Members are used to high-street specialty coffee. If yours is worse, they will buy it elsewhere.
Choice. Decaf, hot chocolate, matcha and chai matter to members who don't drink espresso all day.
Low effort. Minimal cleaning, refilling and troubleshooting for your team.
Reliability. A broken machine in a shared kitchen is seen by every member.
Value for money. Match the machine to your actual volume rather than buying the biggest on the market.
Option One: Staffed Barista Set-Up
If your space has a small café with a barista, prioritise value for money and give them everything they need for great coffee. Co-working volumes are steady rather than frantic, so a compact, low-volume two-group machine is enough.
You will need two grinders, one for your house espresso and one for decaf, as a traditional espresso machine cannot grind beans. Your biggest priority should be high-quality coffee beans: with a skilled barista in place, the beans are what members actually taste.
Sanremo Zoe (two group). Entry-level commercial espresso machine with a shot timer on each group for consistent extractions. Widely installed across UK cafés, bakeries and pubs. Available in black, white and stainless steel.
Victoria Arduino Eagle One (two group). Mid-premium espresso machine with cool-touch steam wands and LED work-area lighting as standard. Available in black, white, stainless steel and wood.
Mahlkönig E65S grinders (x2). One for house espresso, one for decaf. Up to six programmable recipes, quiet grinding, and built for sustained daily use.
Option Two: Self-Service Bean-to-Cup
Bean-to-cup machines were once thought to make worse coffee than a barista. That is no longer true: modern machines grind fresh for every cup, brew to proper espresso standards and texture fresh milk automatically, so the quality now matches a barista-made drink.
For self-service, look for a machine that tastes great, needs no training, offers a broad menu and needs minimal cleaning.

Pulse 200. Two bean hoppers with twin Ditting grinders (house coffee and decaf), three powder hoppers for hot chocolate, matcha and chai, an automatic milk pump for hot and cold milk foam, and a hot water outlet. One-touch or build-your-own drinks by size, strength and milk. Around 200 drinks per day. Runs from standard 13 amp plugs, the milk fridge can sit under the counter, and 2-way telemetry is included.
Eversys Legacy. Swiss super-automatic available in self-service configurations. Two grinders (expandable to four), electronic milk texturing for adjustable foam, an optional powder unit for hot chocolate, and a 10.1 inch colour touchscreen. Up to 175 espressos or 120 cappuccinos per hour.
Core 200. Two bean hoppers with twin Ditting grinders (house coffee and decaf), twin powder hoppers for hot chocolate and alternatives such as matcha, and a fully automatic fresh milk system. Also makes cold drinks, including iced Americano. Around 400 drinks per day. Solid aluminium doors, a counter-top fridge and a height of roughly 83cm, so check cabinet clearance.
Finding The Right Fit
A coffee machine is a long-term investment, and the right choice is the one that fits how your co-working space actually runs. Consider who will make the drinks, how many members you serve each day and what they like to drink. Get it right and coffee becomes a reason members stay; get it wrong and it becomes a daily frustration.
The best way to decide is to try the machines for yourself. You can visit one of our showrooms to taste the coffee, test the self-service menus and see each machine in action. To get started, speak to one of our experts at Bridge Coffee Roasters, who can talk through your space and recommend the right set-up.
