Our Story

With over 40 years of experience in coffee, our family-owned company has grown and developed over time to better serve our growing list of customers around the UK.

1985 Humble beginnings

Bernard Devenish founds Bridge Valley Beverages, selling home coffee machines to families and small businesses in Bristol. It’s the start of a business built on genuine relationships and a love for good coffee.

2015 A new generation

Bernard’s sons, Darryl and Max, step into leadership, bringing with them a vision to scale the business and expand its impact across the UK hospitality industry.

2016 Relocation

The business relocates to Dyffryn Business Park, just outside Cardiff. With a dedicated HQ and warehousing, Bridge begins supporting a growing number of hotels, cafés, universities and visitor attractions nationwide.

2019 Roasting begins

To deliver a premium offering to our customers, we invested in our first 35kg Diedrich coffee roaster, giving us full control over coffee quality and enabling us to offer private label services.

2020 A clear focus

Shifting from supplier to a specialist coffee roaster marked a shift from supply to strategy, and with it, a new name: Bridge Coffee Roasters. The focus sharpens on specialty coffee and building exceptional coffee brands for businesses.

2023 Scaling for the future

We invested in a state-of-the-art 120kg roaster, automated packing line and full blending facility. With capacity to roast up to 2,000 tonnes a year, we’re built for growth—without ever compromising on quality.
